Clifton should have had this game wrapped up in the first 20 minutes or so, but squandered numerous chances handed to them by a surprisingly vulnerable looking Bulwell defence.

The visitors did take the lead with only two minutes on the clock, an attempted clearance cannoning off TOM MADDISON, sending the ball trickling over the line.

Craig Anderson fired wildly over on 6, and when Rob Gill and Maddison combined well to play in Connor Hardy, the winger hit the ball well wide.

Hardy was proving to be a handful down the left side, and with 15 played, his driven cross hit Gill in the chest, but the striker couldn't steer the ball home even though he was standing on the goal line.

Bulwell keeper Matt Simpson saved a 25th minute free-kick from Gill, and was then lucky when Clifton left-back Danny Johnson lifted the ball over his head, only for it to crash off the bar straight into fall safely into his arms.

Clifton keeper Liam Mitchell pulled off a spectacular diving save on 37, palming away an Ako Abdullah drive that seemed destined to fly into the top corner. H-T 0-1

After the break, Bulwell came more and more into the game, as Clifton dropped deeper and deeper. The visitors back line looked a bit shaky, and were let down slightly by their midfield players, who didn't protect them at all.

With the game entering it last knockings, it looked more and more as if Clifton would hold out for the win, but as had happened last week against Hucknall Town, they were not able to hold on and ended the game with nothing.

RYAN KING nodded home Jake Fisher's cross on 87, climbing highest in the midst of a gaggle of players to send the ball looping into the net.

With three minutes of added time played, FELIX HOGG had a simple tap in from close range after the Clifton defence had failed to clear the ball wide left. F-T 2-1

So Clifton lose in added time again - but to be honest, after the first 20 minutes Bulwell were the better team, and well deserved their first win of the new season.
